Death of a Poetess

My second feature film with director Dana Goldberg that co directed this film with Efrat Mishori

The  filming took place in Tel Aviv and Bat Yam in three intensive days and a very tight budget.

To work with these limiting conditions we shot with two cameras and a documentary black and white style where the two great actresses - Evgenia Dodina and Samira Saraya acted and improvised with specially picked non actors.
The actors where given their charecter and motives and left to improvise the scene as it took place.

To help shooting in low light conditions we opted for the Sony A7s with it's impressive low light capabilities which allowed us in one scene to follow Samira's charecter into the night sea with virtually no lights but the city lights from behind.

The film consists of two parallel axes. Yasmin (35), a nurse who lives in Jaffa, is interrogated by the police. Lenny Sade (50), a world-renowned researcher, is passing through the last day of her life. The worlds of these two women meet for a critical moment and are bound together inseparably.
