Mona Oren, Video Art On April 23rd, 2019, I sowed a field of flowers in the Dead Sea.
It was not my first performance there.
The first time was in 2002 when I placed wax flowers on the surface of water around a Dead Sea salt flower.
Between 2002 and 2021, I went back there and acted each time as a sower growing a field, in a place where, in a certain way, life did not exist.
In the course of these years, “my life time”, I witnessed the change in the landscape, my wax sculptures were confronted with extreme weather conditions in the desert and with the salt element.
I kept track of the gesture by means of videos and photos.
I collected some fragments of these experiences which now seem to me to have come out of a dream and I brought them back with me to Paris.
